Default Somebody help me with my sonata 1998 cassette player

dear friends!
i'v got a sonata III car model 1998 and its tape player is also hyundai.
i don't know what happened and now it shows word (code) on screen and don't work. i don't know what the code is and it is worth mentioning that i bought this car second hand.
so please help me how to deal with this. please if you know any other address that can help me online ,please send by my email address.

It sounds as if you deck was code protected.
If the power was interupted, then it would lock up until you put the code in or reset it.
Since you don't know the code, the only option is to take it to the dealership and have it reset (unless somebody here knows and will tell you).

hmm...I never have know for Hyundai to use theftock feature. I had a 98 Sonata with the cassette and never even read anything about this in the manual. It isn't listed on HMAservice.com either.

my 97 sonata (also a Y3) doesn't have that.......although none of the USDM sonatas do, as far as i know. i do know, however know that canadian and sonatas in other countries do have this on the newer sonatas, but i've never heard of it on the old ones. if that's the case, then yes, you do have to take it to the dealer.
