Anyone replaced your tires on your XG yet? What brand and size did you go with? I'm looking at a set of Hankook Ventus HRII H405 and gonna do 215/55/16 on stock rims. http://www.hankooktireusa.com/produc..._ID=18&CatID=5 Check em out and see what you think. Thanks :smoking:
Look's like a good lookin tire and it look's like a dunlop..everyones buying budget rubber these day's and kumho and hankook are some examples
The tire size will fit the car with no weird effect's on the car or the speedometer
How do i know?
I Just had a pair of Michelin MXV4 215/55/R16 Tire's installed on my rear of the XG,
The only difference is that the Costco Paraniod Morons at costco wouldn't let a bigger size tire be installed..Screw em to hell!!, So I had to go to a local exxon to have them installed for $15
I Notice a slight difference, The rear end doesn't lean or tilt as much on the asphalt and it's very stable and very less prone to drift on the dirt road's that i alway's take to get home, Like Very Dusty and loose gravel,

Depending on your location or if you trade you tires for snow tires in the winter, the Kumho Ecsta KH11 might be another option: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+KH11
I've had them about a year now, and am much, much happier with them than with the Michelin MXV4+ that they replaced. It's an asymmetrical tire with fantastic grip. I think this tire is custom made for a car like the XG. With its heavy wieght and soft suspension I needed all the help I could get when I wanted to push it a little (or a lot) and these tires added a ton of confidence on the road. I didn't know selecting the right tire upgrade could make such a difference but now I'm a believer. Tire noise is higher than the Michelins, but tread life much better so far and I have a pretty heavy foot. Ordered them from Tire Rack and had a local shop throw them on. I use these tires year-round in San Diego and do not plan to ever use another tire on the XG for as long as I own it.

Actually, I find myself concerned with oversteer more than understeer due again to the weight and suspension. It nosedives when braking hard into corners (e.g. exit ramps) and I find myself turning into a smaller radius than intended. Even then though, the tires react well.
In the rain? They've been fine so far, but I'm a bad judge as it doesn't rain too much where I live. Coming from NY to San Diego, I've learned to cool it in the rain here not because of the tires but because of other drivers! I shudder to think what would happen if it actually snowed here!
BTW, just returned from a business trip in Korea and brought back an early xmas gift: OEM HID headlamps. I'll post some pics after I have the time to make the install.
