Default XG OEM HID installed (56K beware)

I was in Korea on business a few weeks ago and stopped by a Hyundai dealership near my hotel to see if I could purchase HID headlamps for the XG. It was a Saturday, but the guys at the dealership were great and a few phone calls later got me a quote and the address for a Hyundai parts store. I also wanted to get a good look at the new Sonata NF but they were all sold out (saw plenty on the streets though...nice car!)

A 10 minute taxi ride and $800 later I had the headlamps. I sweated getting them through airport security as no one could give me a straight answer if they were a hazardous item or not (I thought the ballast might give me issues), but thankfully no problems.

The install was cake of course...simply swapped out the old for the new and all the wiring match since its OEM.

I had a H7 CATZ HID kit in previously, and was pleasantly surprised to see how well it compared to the OEM headlamps. Of course, the OEM do provide greater coverage and intensity since the headlamps are specifically for HID bulbs, but the CATZ wasn't too far behind.

The new headlamps not only provide the best in lighting, I think they look great too! Aesthetically, it's a nice subtle facelift. Anyways, here's some pics. Hope you enjoy.

TAK82,

Not sure why, but I haven't gotten your email yet. I have tried to email you directly but the listed email on your account here does not seem active. Please try contacting me at hans-06@sandiego.edu since hzeller@lge.com didn't seem to work. Thanks

Not sure why the whole email above wasn't highlighted in blue, but the email is: 'hans-06@sandiego.edu' not just '06@sandiego.edu'.

^^^ Yeah, that was me actually. I ran a search and here's the original thread: http://hyundaiperformance.com/forums/topic.php?t=32900 Looks like you were going to install the same CATZ kit at one point.

I don't have those original install pictures online anymore. However, I have to reverse install the kit now and will take plenty of pics for whoever ends up buying it. I was an idiot and tossed the installation papers. If I remember correctly, they weren't much help anyways. Regardless of whether you're interested in the kit still, I'd be happy to send you the pics either way.
