Okay..well I am not totally sure but this is what I think. Because Mitsubishi supplied motors to Hyundai in the past, Hyundai was able to learn the design processes and technology, and blueprints of the engine. After Hyundai had enough money and technology they stopped using Mitsubishi Motors and developed their own motors. This includes the Beta, Delta, Sirrus, Sigma, and now in 2005 the 2.4L Theta engine. So your motors is in fact a fully developed Hyundai engine.

I am glad I could help But I must correct myself. I included the Theta in the "fully Hyundai developed" list. The Theta will be a joint of Hyundai/Mitsubishi/Chrysler Motors, with Hyundai being the lead developer.

No, I meant Chrysler's 2.7 V6, Not hyundai's delta,
there's been reported problems of some engine's blowing up and the timing chain messing itself up, and mucho oil consumption
