Console Light Comes off and On...

When I drive at night sometimes my console light just goes completely off. Any suggestions on how to fix this? It just goes on after a half hour or so.

can you be more specific on the console area you are referring to?

do you mean the overhead console's where the sun visor's are??

No you know like the speedomotor, the indicator that says drive, neutral, reverse and whatnot. Also the radio and the buttons too. You know how they come on when you turn on the lights? The buttons glow and whatnot. Anyways all this is now fading in and out, in and out. It has nothing to do with the dial on the left of the steering wheel either, because when I turn it all the way up to where it would be the brightest it will still be off.

The weird thing is that when I turn off the lights, the drive button lights up (by the odomotor) but when I turn on the lights it turns off. Any help?
