well, if you got the bucks, it's suggested that a Cold-air intake and some high quality crack resistent header's are a first step in tuning,
you might also want to invest in some good high quality ground cables,
to stabilize the car's electronic systems..it may seem like a low degree but it definitely makes a difference,
you can also try to take out the intake manifold if you got the time, tools and some Know how..preferably a friend who's a good mechanic and port and polish the Sharp edge's on the Manifold, this will help reduce the drag and incoming air experience's when you floor it,
exhaust should be the next step, but here's the thing,
Installing a New exhaust is also a good idea..The whole stock exhaust system will have to come out though and be replaced with a new Custom fabricated exhaust system which should call for bigger pipe's..about 2.5 Inches to allow the exhaust gase's to flow more quickly and freely which eliminates backpressure,
it will probably call for a resonator which minimizes noise since the New exhaust will perhaps be too loud, add header's and it'll get more noisier, so wrap the header's in some Insulation to suppress some noise
Now The Big One..Forced induction,
I don't know if there are any Turbo or supercharge kit's available for mid-late model hyundai's like you "EF"
but if your engine internal's are strong enough..which is unknown,
and if the block and sleeve material are made out of iron..which i highly do think so,
a custom made turbo kit or blower kit might be able to be bolted on the 2.4L
Personally..I'd go for a supercharger since it's natural ability to boost when you actually floor it compared to a traditional turbo,
and there's less weight for a supercharger kit,
It probably consist's of a few small part's,oil fitting,hose's belts,Blower unit,Small intercooler,certain screws and bolts,
Turbo Kit's consisft of adding about 60 or 55 more pound's to the car
it include's a Turbo"Duh",Turbo Manifold,Wastegate,Fuel pressure regulator,Oil fitting for the oil pan, steel braided hose's, Downpipes, Clamps, Hoses, Probably a New ECU, Intercooler,blow-off valve, Conical Air intake,
and frankly speaking..supercharger's are pretty much more reliable..since they're driven from a belt...unlike turbo's which has problems with lag and boost creeping to the car when you don't need it, Turbo Components can also get extremly hot, so nearby HOse's or parts and electrical can get cooked,
More weight also contribute's to more understeer and even more unever weight distribution, Since you're adding more weight to the front and sending the tire's to an early grave,
However if you are going turbo, Try to move the battery to the trunk..I Don't know how but I'm sure that if you "search" about this website and ask The member's..I'm sure they'll be glad to help you out,
So There's my 2 cent's and i hope my info helps,
