Default weird transmission/ gear shifting sound in '03 XG

I have an 03 XG..and I've noticed this the past few months. Whenever I turn the car on, then put it in Drive and press the gas...the first 10 sec or so i would hear a clunking or clanking noise. kind of like a manual car shifting gears...it always occurs when im first driving off. i took it to the dealership and they didnt hear a sound, but said that my power steering line and my brake line were touching and causing a vibration noise so they separated those two, but charged me 80 bucks for labor. I thought it was fixed but as soon as i drove off the lot i hear it again..."CLANK!"....has anyone had this problem or know what im talking about? after that initial clank im good for the rest of the drive unitl i turn the car off...go do something ...come back and turn the car on and put it in drive....let me know please

you should ask for the Transmission TCM To be checked for error's,

Low fluid can sometime's cause error's and the transmission will adapt to this mistake and try to learn and screw itself,

Low Fluid Can also Dealy the Oil Pump, which can sometime's start abrupt shifts

is it like wornout gear's rubbing or a Sudden jolt that hit's the entire car??

have a tech or 2 drive with you and show them the problem,

THAT WAY..they'll see the problem,

TCM Is Transmission Control Module,..it might have to be reset or replaced,

Here's a transmission issue I've seen posted before, but never heard anything else about: when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear my XG shudders briefly, in both full automatic or shiftronic mode. Anyone else seen this?

Don't know if they fixed the problem or not, but 2001's were known for transmission troubles. Mine failed completely at about 40k miles and was replaced under warranty. It too started off with shuddering/clunking gear changes.

actually i took it to the dealer and left it over night so they can check on it. They told me following monday that they found nothign so I took it home. Thinking it was gone. I drove off the lot and it made it again. after the 10mph mark, theres this clunk noise and it goes away after a little bit of acceleration. so I took it back the next mornign and drove w/ the tech guy to hear the noise.i felt like a dumba$$ cuz it didnt make the noise. but when i take it home and go to work i can hear it again. it happens when i turn the car off for a bout 20 min and turn it back on and go my merry way. is this a transmission issue? i dont want to feel like an idiot again and it doesnt make that noise...let me know peeps...

put a camcorder on the back of your car and record the first hour of driving..that should make plenty of Clunking noises,

when i say back, i mean behind the rear headrest of the rear seats
