Re: Hyundai XG Owners Opinions Needed... (Get Paid $5 To Fill Out a Survey)
I wonder why the avalon is involved,
It's pretty obvious that the XG And The Soon to be released TG Will be Neck to Neck Rivals with the Avalon,
I Don't Care how the new XG Look's Like..It just needs some high tech goodie's to stand up as a true flagship Sedan with the competition..Xenon..HID..More taunt suspension,Technically Engineered Engine,
And a STICK!!
If Hyundai Can't Appeal to Gentlemen's In BMW's and Musclesedan's with big power and sticks..They Lose!!..cause they simply aren't listening to customers..and the Chumpy tiburon ain't gonna appeal to Enthusiasts..especially with All opf Hyndai Car's Being Front wheel Drive....Puuggh!!
Hyundai Motor America Alway's Water's downs the American version of the korean cars..
If The Stupid Car Company Corporation think it's too expensive to add HID Or navigation to their car's..why not add it as an option or a Dealer Installable accessory!!??
This is why I Won't be buying a hyundai as my next vehicle....Sure they BOast Features..but these feature's aren't that appealable to the mass public,
Yeah yeah standard Ashtray, standard Dome Light,Blah Blash Standard Blah blah sound system..multi disc CD PLaya....Good Engineering, HID And Navigations System's are what lure Buyer's
what a way to sell a car with a brochure that has to list every obvious list of standard faeture from the Digital CLock to the ever so obvious ashtray!!??..just to make it appealing to the customer's that he or she is getting what they are getting for their money just by looking at the long listy of what they can't understand cause they're so excited by the long list..when by the time they seal the deal..they realized that they've just bought a Boring Vanilla Car..with feature's Every competition offer's..buy the time they
sat in The Gayish Looking Cloth or ther Vinyl Like Cheapo unsupple Feeling Leather that they use on the elantra GT , GK, Sonata and the Santa fe and The XG
if hyundai wants to be noticed..thay need to start playing Ball with the big boy's if they realy want a car in Motor trend's car of the year.
Soory I Got carried away....But I Has such amount of Negative opinion's on my XG That i just had to pour it out like a niagara,
And if the HMC Is looking at this..they better,

Re: Hyundai XG Owners Opinions Needed... (Get Paid $5 To Fill Out a Survey)
Well, I admit I had to lie to take that survey because I don't own a 2002 or newer XG350 but rather a 2001 XG300. But I'm a big XG fan and wanted to add my two cents (or should I say my 5 dollars' worth?)
It looks like Hyundai is getting ready to take a more traditional approach to options instead of the 'everything but the kitchen sink' attitude it's taken with the XG's features up to now (TAK82, I haven't forgotten all the missing options that are in the KDM XG...I'll get to that in a bit.)
This makes sense, as now that their foot is not just in the door but kicking it down, they can scale back on what's included standard and begin to push up the profit margin. That doesn't mean I like it, but I can see it happening and the launch of the NF and new XG seem as good a time as any to make the move.
What I didn't like about the survey was no chance to add additional comments. If they really want feedback then give us a chance to say what we really want to. For example, I could care less about a premium branded factory installed stereo. I have loved custom car stereo since high school and will likely forever replace a factory system with aftermarket components to my liking. I understand I'm likely a minority view there, but still...
Also, how about an 'other' option for upgrades we'd pay for that weren't listed and then a chance to specify them...I'm thinking of HID lights specifically which were missing (why why why? Still not going to include them here in North America?) This was just a survey...I guess I'll wait and see what's really available or not.
Back to Tak82's comments, I agree with a lot of what you say considering the threshold Hyundai is about to now cross. If you had made these comments say 4-5 years ago I'd say the market simply isn't ready. I think Hyundai's been wise to this point playing the standard options-loaded and extended warranty cards, but agree that they need to step up the game in anticipation of the new models and a presumably larger market share. With such changes will come greater expectations.
I was surprised to see all the goodies on the XG in Korea and also agree that even if they aren't standard here, make them an option! Heated rear leather seats, navigation, HID, sunscreens, refridgerated consoles, etc...if it's already manufactured is it such a stretch to make it an option?
Beyond that, if Hyundai wants to make some real noise it should take even bigger risks with more radical options (for Hyundai at least) like iPod integration, an optional engine upgrade, suspension upgrade, wheel upgrade, or (in my dreams) a manual transmission. I predict they'll have the sales and the profit to do so...maybe these things are all a few more model generations down the line. But then again, what's the competition offering by then and will Hyundai still be behind the curve?
The XG is far far far from perfect, but I still love mine, warts and all and I'll look hard at owning another one or a Sonata NF when the time is right. Even if I don't own another one (a mini-van is more likely in my future...show us yours Hyundai!) as a fan, I want to see Hyundai take steps in the directions I just mentioned.

Having taken a look at the site, I think this car is a step in the right direction in some ways, particularly the improved engine. Suspension still looks like the same old ride that reminds me of jumping on my parents waterbed when I was little.
What's irksome is some options already available even on the current XG still didn't appear to make it, navi and HID in particular. Do they really think there's no market here for it? The XG is a premium car in Korea, but still not their flagship and those options are available..here in NA it is the flagship model and nada. Lay it all on the line Hyundai!

S2000? That car is in a completely different league, but if you're gonna make the trade kudos. A co-worker let me take his out alone for a spin on a lunch break last month. Let's just say I didn't have time for lunch...that thing is a blast!

Anyways..I'm looking forward to the azera's intro to the lot's..i'm expecting some Husband's pleading with their wive's as they drool over Hyuindai's newest and also a bit lame flagship...just don't have the flagship "material" if you get my drift,
The "EE" S2000 not the ideal drift machine though..lack of torque makes the car wanna understeer through the corner rather than break loose on the corners,
