Default New some advice on DVD Navigation

OK I need some advice. I have always wanted a DVD nav system, and my budget is around $1500. I just got a 2005 Sonata GLS SV and was wondering if I should wait until the 2006 model comes out and see how much the factory GPS system will be separately, if available at all?

My basic requirements are that it have at least a 7" screen, has to be a touchscreen driven unit, plays MP3s and DVDs, and have pretty recent updates on the GPS maps.

Right now I just have the factory stock tape/CD deck that I am looking to upgrade and I have a separate nav system [Mapopolis] running on my vent-mounted pocket pc. Are the in-dash dvd systems not worth the additional expense for the navigation feature? And if that is the case am I better keeping my separate nav system and just getting a monitor and under-seat DVD player and a standalone MP3 head unit with aux inputs for a cheaper solution?

Well to follow up after doing a lot of research I did finally end up on the Pioneer AVIC-N1 nav system. It seemed the best value for the money and I bought it used on eBay. I'll post up some pics once I get it installed on Friday.

No point in waiting for a factory one then since a factory NAV will never play DVD movies up front seeing as it is illegal to have a movie screen in the front of a car. If you want that, you will have to do aftermarket.

close, but incorrect. it's illegal to have one in view of the driver while the car is in motion.
