Default dissapointing 1/4 Mile runs

Well firstly I would like to say I am a little bit dissapointed with the times of the Sonata V6. I took out all unnecessary things like spare tire and other junk. The car had a weight of 3450lbs with a quarter tank of gas. My times were 15.792 @ 88.125 mph, 15.855 @ 88.152 mph, 15.902 @ 87.425 mph, 15.979 @ 86 mph. I alternated with keeping it in drive and using the manumatic mode. Any ways the times seem a little slow. The 60 foot times were around 2.4

Whether I had the car in D or sport mode the car shifted into 2nd at 5500rpm, into 3rd at 5750rpm. Is 6000rpm the redline for the lamda 6? Is there something wrong or is that where the car shifts at. I was hoping to take it to the track and get some good times and give hyundai a better rep as being sporty, but I seemed to have failed.

What was the weather like? My wife has an '06 Sonata and I've run it at the track on two separate occasions. Both times its best was 15.3 @ 92.XX w/ 2.3 60 ft. Make sure you brake-torque just a tad off the line....

Well...

How were you launching? You can brake launch on an Auto w/out doing too much dmg to the tranny or the engine. Just hold the brake as hard as you can, rev up the engine, and when ti goes green, let go of the brake and enjoy!

Should help w/your 60' times by at least 1/2 a second.

Howie~

High 15's are a little slow but not that bad. It's a mid 15 sec car stock.
