Okay only happens when the car is just starting and warming up. It doesn't do it anymore after the car has been running for about 2mins. But neways. Note: Car only does this when in gear. Never in park or neutral. If you put it in drive or reverse and give it lots of gas really fast the engine will just bog down like its running lean. To much air and no fuel. The car will move slightly but not a lot and you will hear some funky sounds...sometimes like a poping sound. If the car has been running for a a couple mins it won't do this. I am thinking the injectors need to be cleaned so that will be going in the shop soon. Also I am thinking it can be a TPS sensor? I have 97 Sonata GL V6.

i hit the gas, and nothing happens for a sec, it just rolls a little bit like it was in neutral. after that, it goes fine. and i've noticed this happens only when i go right after i start up my car. in the winter, when i would let my car warm up for 5 mins, it never happened...

Yeah but I can have the pedal to the floor for from anywhere from 5-20seconds and I will just creep. If I ease the gas on it will go fine but not when floored if it is cold. If the problem keeps occuring after that I think I'll get the TPS check out. Any opinios Maybe I will get more help if i post this somewhere else.

If the car is just starting up, then your ecu should be in loop for a cold motor startup. this would mean extra fuel, until engine temp rises. The pause you're getting is your ignition timing being retarded back.

I was already thinking of that but there is no reason the car should have the pedal to the floor and not be taking off. I do believe it is the TPS so I am gonna get that checked out. It only does it when the car is cold and when taking off. Also I noticed it sounds like it is making a poping noise. Deffinatly not enough fuel. The car has always been on top mantaince and has never missed a service interval.

The exhaust will make a popping noise if it is overfueling. if the engine makes detonation sound eg... knocking a coin hard on the cover, then that is when it is leaning out. your car should not be leaning out when driving from a stand start. I don't think it's your TPS. your car can drive fine at normal temperature, so i still think it's just the cold start cycle. There are things that effect your revs, you will probably notice that when at idle, if you steering wheel whilst stationary, that your revs drop slightly, then pick up again. This isn't what is causing your problem, but it's to show that there are other things besides tps that effect throttle response. have you checked the spark plugs?
I'm using the eclipse conversion with the eclipse ecu, on cold start, my car does exactly what you are describing.

I got an easy solution for you to fix the problem.
QUIT STOMPING THE GAS TO THE FLOOR WHEN YOU FIRST START YOUR CAR.
Let the car warm up or atleast take it easy when you first start the car up.

Well I noticed it actually when I was giving it very little gas and pressed a little harder and it wouldn't move so I put the pedal to the metal.
DSM-
I also must say that this has never happened before even when starting up, it has just now started to do this not more than 2 weeks. I haven't checked the plugs so I will do that. Any other things?
