Almighty Amp Power Cable Through Firewall Issue

So I have read the forums of all pages and I have yet to find a satisfactory place to drill or use an already existing hole in my 2002 Automatic Elantra for the Amp Power Cable run to the trunk. Some people say use the tire well which I think is a bad idea. Open wires to the outside areas, not comfortable. Running around the door jam is another bad idea. All it takes is one time for the casing to wear down and the copper touch the car. Others talk about a whole by the gas pedal cable that I don't see in mine. Where is a good place to drill through the firewall for the power cable? I don't want to risk drilling blind and hitting any other vaulable cables so please, everyone's input is important. Thanks for the help. uzzled:

Just find a open area where nothing is and look on the other side then drill, put a gramet on then and be done with it. Use things like wires, and other bolts, the shape of the firewall to see where you want to come in at. Door jam is a bad idea, and if you have a large enough guage and run close to the body you could go under, but I wouldn't bother unless you run o gauge. Just drill it is a lot easier, use a small bit to punch through if you are not sure then use the size you need.

Go Big or go home. Show up to stand out or don't show up at all.

Find your throttle cable, and drill right next to it. Thats what i did, and it worked. That way you can make sure that there is nothing around it on the other side. For awhile i did use the door jam...:dead:

What size is your wire?
Im running two 6 gauges... yeah... two... :

If it were me, I'd look into seeing what kind of space you could find behind the center console (under the cowel) and running it down the center of the car. It's a lot more work, usually involves pulling the dash apart, but you can run the cord under the upholstry all the way back.

..thats what i did... :

But hes talking about the firewall, its a b!tch once you get the dash and gauges out, theres so much junk behind there, you can even see the fire wall. You could however, run your wires up to your shifter linkege under the car, then bring it up through right there into the interior. Only problem i can see is heat from the exhaust.... i dunno...

In my accent there was a pre-drilled hole right behind the gas pedal, a little higher up. It was plugged with a rubber stopper that could be cut to be made into a grommet. It was easily able to accomodate wiring plus a 4an nitrous line.
