Default Bypass the FOB activated alarm???

I was once shown how to bypass the alarm on a Toyota where you turn the key on, but without attempting to start it, then cycle off, on, off, and on again, then the alarm turned off and it would start like you turned it off with the remote!

There should be a way to bypass the system on my 2002 Elantra GT as one remote (the one I have, she gets the good one) is seriously worn out and some day soon I believe I will be stranded and she will be home with the good remote and no way to get to me.

Anyone know?

1962 Buick 215 Aluminum V8 that will have MegaSquirt EFI (computer built, awaiting intake manifold) and 12:1+ pistons to run either E85, or pure Ethanol!
Gasoline is on the way out soon and hydrogen will not be allowed until the oil industry gets taken down!

If the OEM alarm is armed on your elantra, but your FOB dies and you seem to be unable to turn off the alarm, simply insert your key in the ignition, turn to the on position as if you were to start the vehicle, close the door and put your fingers in your ears for about 1 minute for the alarm to shut up. the car should then allow you to start it.
