Default Racing

I'm going to be drag racing my car (bracket of course)for the first time this weekend. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, or suggestions as to tire pressure, how to leave the line... anything that will help me be consistant!!

your going to race, and you are asking these noob questions?
If you have to ask, you are not an excellent driver.
i'm not saying you suck.....but you know....

it's almost common sense.

Don't wait for the light to turn green. Launch at the last yellow. You'll put down a better R/T.

James give the guy a break bro, he's just looking to become good at it, and no-one becomes good without a little constructive criticism if you know what I mean.

he never said he was an excellent driver in the first place so give him a break.. and you think its all common sense.. but you'd be suprised how much practice you need before you can become a consistantly good driver..

badass- the tire psi for your fronts should be significantly lower then your rears.. take a couple of practice rounds before you actually bracket race to experiment on your launch to see which rpm's you should be launching at.. ppl do say what rpm is best but when you go to the track it all depends on conditions and its differnet so test it out your self and make sure you know where to launch.. and yes launch on the yellow.. dont wait for the green or you'll have a terrible reaction time..
good luck!

practice practice practice

Launch at the last yellow like 1SickGS said. If you still have a really high RT maybe sooner, but keep it consistant. Until you've left the line a few (lots of) times you'll be screwing up but that's okay.

Look at your time slips and take good note of your 60' times. That's where you'll want to work to keep it under 2.3s

Don't fvck up your shifting either

That's all I can remember, been a couple months since I went to the track, good luck!

Oh yeah most importantly make sure you actually meet the other people there, it's usually a lot of fun that way
