Default Now I did it in a RWD car...

http://www.wosca.com/Event_Results/Winter-2004-Event-3-Results.htm

I ran this car so hard I lost the exhaust stove and prewarm tube! Oh well I don;t need that part anyways...

The body roll was attrocious on a Pony with a 6 inch lift and worn front shocks, and 155R13 pizza cutter tires on the front, and a basically stock (worn) engine... Good thing the steering system is relatively in tune!

I was in the same class as a BMW 320I and several civics, aswell as a legacy? Since when does a 74WHP RWD car go into the same category as a 4WD legacy? In any case, for my next Pony I shall lower it, put wider rims on it, build a strut brace and subframes, and increase the power output significantly. Then we'll see if I can get into the top 15.

Good job man. 32nd isn't bad and look at the drivers you beat.

The new suspension might get some taking used to, but I'm sure you'll go up 10-15 spots if you can pull off some better times.

Yeah no shit man I hope spikie took some pics of the attrocious body roll... it was brutal. Trust me that car was MAXED out. I pushed it VERY hard, did the whole course in 1st gear, sometimes exceeding the redline by as much as 800RPM (limit is 5900, I got up into the mid 6k's)

I did a brake stand in the staging box, and everyone cheered. I got a great launch that time, but sometimes the roll of the car plowed me into turns that I braked hard on. It felt like a FWD at times, but a quick mash of the gas corrected that issue. I would say that the only other cars driving as hard as me were the white civic SI, the camo 88 civic, and mostly the blue subaru WRX. He was doing donuts for no reason and incredible powerslides. He got penalized for sending pylons flying but who cares that shit was awesome. I'd say I was 4th or 5th in vehicle abuse... but the Pony lives!

Also, I have yet to hit a pylon! (although the first run I was confused as to the course layout because it was too cold for me to walk the track, so I finished with a nice DNF first round)

And you were consistently getting faster so I'm sure with more power and better suspension you'll do a lot better. A few more runs and familiarity with the course and your car setup would help too. I'm guessing it was a pretty tight course to run all in 1st gear.

Last autox I did, I walked the track, and I still went off course like 5 runs out of 6.

Hey maybe im just a good driver... or maybe the car is actually GOOD as compared to a stereotypically canadian slandering consensus... I wonder what I could do in a properly set up car.... i'd love to take an IROC out but I fear it's 3800 pound curb weight would require me to learn it's weight distribution and forces acting on the mass of such a car...
