I'm hopefully taking my stock '01 Elantra to the track tommorow night. I would like to get some peoples est. times, and some tips on how not to blow anything up considering it is my everyday driving car. I'll post my time when I get home sometime on Sat.

Just so you know, i wasn't expecting anything big. Besides Im going to be running against other totally stock vehicles and other with a few mods. nothing big. one in particular a '93 Saturn SC2 with a CAI other than that totally stock.
BTW, I wish I had and OD to take off. I only have a 4 speed auto. (at least I think, if im wrong i will sound very dumb) And I never shift for the reason of it being AT.

if the automatic elantra is geared somewhat like a 5 speed rpm wise then if you leave it in 3rd you'll hit the end of the 1/4 around redline and on the times will usually show 2mph faster around that with maybe 1-2/10ths faster. I hate doing it to mine but I have no choice its either wait for it to hit redline or shift into 4th before it but last time I shifted into 4th at almost redline I went home in my freinds car with mine at the dealer with a new clutch installed from blowing apart the throwout bearing and jaimming the pressure plate into the clutch. big mess but anyway dont let that discourage just go out and try see what works better.
