Higher octane gas burns less explosive giving off a cleaner burn that doesn't leave as much carbon because the gas burns more complete. That is why we use it in high performance cars and airplanes.

I always ran 87 octane in the accent, track or not. The lowest octane that doesnt have any knock is the best for the motor. Typically, on hyundai's its 87 when stock (or near it).

higher octane fuel burns slower. A obdII car programed to run on 87 octane fuel, which burns faster, will have the apropriate ignition timing for that particular fuel. Adding a higher octane fuel will do absolutely nothing, and it might even run poorly due to incomplete combustion.
have always, and will always run 87 octane here8D
