Default going to my first autocross tomorrow

I'm taking my '03 accent out and abusing it tomorrow. It's completely stock... does anyone have any advice?

Late apex.

Also, take your time and just learn the racing lines before you try to go fast.

it's okay to be very slow on your first event. i was discouraged with my 80s on a 60s course, but whatever. last week i was 2 seconds behind skierd and that was my second event. hopefully tomorrow will be even better. just keep going out there time after time and build your experience.

completely stock is a great way to start. it means you havent wasted money on modifications to your car that you dont need or that hurt you. good luck

if you're looking for a helmet, check out http://www.extremesupply.com/bellhelmets/bellmcyc/bellhelmetstourlitesc.htm
59$, free shipping, free helmet bag. make sure you get the right size by using the sizing chart: http://www.extremesupply.com/bellhelmets/bellmcyc/sizing.htm
that price will get you a Bell Tourlite SC - Solid Black Helmet that is DOT and Snell M2000 rated.

have fun!

Tip it into the turn, don't sling it in and get overthrow, which takes more time for the chassis to recover from.

Well, how did you do for this one? Got a course map too, it would help lots if we could see the course.

Dead last by a large margin, I don't have a course map either. In other news, I just bought a CAI from cosmo racing and I'm getting some rota slipstreams. I can't handle that stock 13" wheels any longer. My only fear is that once I get some tires with stiffer sidewalls I'll see how soft my suspension really is.
