Does anyone one know of any Beta swapped Accents runnining autoX events? If so, what classification do they fall into? I don't think they would even be allowed to run in street modified because of restrictions imposed on using an original or optional block that came in that model. Anyone know for sure? Thanx.

Swaps = street mod. The motor has to come from the same make i.e. a hyundai using a hyundai engine, but not from the same model.

Thanks for clearing that up. The thing that was confusing me was this:
Quote:
National Solo Rules 2005 Edition: Section 16 Street Modified
[body]
D. Drivetrain and related components (induction, ignition, fuel systems,
etc.) are unrestricted except for the following limitations:
1. Engine block must be a production unit manufactured and
badged the same as the original standard or optional engine
for that model. Badges that exist as marketing aliases for the
manufacturer will be recognized as equivalents. Swaps
involving makes related only at a corporate level are not
recognized as equivalents. Models produced as a joint venture
between manufacturers may utilize any engine from any
partner in the joint venture, provided that an engine from the
desired manufacturer was a factory option in that particular
model (e.g. Eagle Talon available originally with either a
Mitsubishi or Chrysler engine, may use any motor from
Chrysler or Mitsubishi). This allows engine blocks
manufactured as production units for sale in other countries
such as Japan or Germany.

It kind of makes it sound like it has to be an optional engine for that model only. I'm glad it's not because I'd like to go out with my car and try autoXing sometime soon. Thanx 4 the info.

You'd figure that in an official rule book they'd be a little more careful with their wordinguzzled:
