springs question

i have a question im thinkin of getting lowering springs. so my question is if i get the springs and then later wanna switch back to the stock ones is that possible or will the car be messed up and cant be raised. or can i switch those with coilovers??

im confused please help!!

Zup! Yeah..it's not a paroblem at all. Just remember that any time you change your suspension height...you throw off your alignment. So when you first lower it..get an alignment done..and then in the future if you ever go back to stock springs/height...get another one done.

Have a question that goes alone with this, I will be taking off my current wheels and tires and putting the stock wheels and tires back for the winter. My questions is, will I have to get an alignment because side by side comparison of the diameter the stock look to be a bit taller.

This is an odd question. Some people have said that when you change the size of tires/rims...yes...you do need an alignment. There have been other peeps that have said that you don't. In my personal experience....I didn't need one from changing tire/rim sizes. So it's your call. When you change them...drive around and don't hold onto your steering wheel. If the car coasts to one side or the other on it's own..then you know. Otherwise if it stays straight and there doesn't seem to be any pulling....then you're good to go! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Thanks for the info, I pretty much figured that an alignment might or might not be necessary but I think I will test it like you said first. Thanks again.

Hi, I'm new in these forums, I think they're great. Theorically, you would need an alignment after each wheel/tire change, however, as said, the change of diameter and shape could be minimal, so effect's wouldn't be noticeable. The best is to try, if your going to drive slow on snow, there shouldn't be no need.

Damn are you serous? when i put my intrax springs on there it lowered the car dramtically but it still drive straight down the road when i took my hand off the wheel.

Well, yes and no. Elantra, you are one of the lucky ones. I would suggest trying them for a week or so to let them settle and if you notice it drifting/pulling then do it.
You never really know.
