Yeah, what skeird said. I'm not sure if the struts blowing so soon is the "common" thing or not. Maybe I was hard on mine to start with, I don't know. They were defninitely gone after a few weeks though. I think just about everyone w/ lowered springs on an LC has had their struts blow after some time, not necessarily two weeks, but they'll blow, I guarantee that.
I've had my car lowered for about a year (~35,000 miles) and they've just recently been getting unbearable in the last month or so.:ermm: I think I'm just gonna start saving for KORE or Whiteline coilovers.:rambo:

i have the pedders shocks on my 02 GL and theyre great; but they were over $500...
coilover sleeves are springs with screw type adjustble mounts. full coilovers are stiffer springs permanently attached to (sometimes) adjustable shocks or shocks matched to the spring rate and cars weight.
i run right now with the arospeed coilovers for the 199 accent and the front is much softer than the rear; but i plan on adding some 40 or 50lbs of stereo in the back so hopefully it will be better but if youve got 150lbs and dont want to be too stiff get the 1995-1999 arospeed accent coilover sleeves. youll have full adjustability and good balance and a comfortable ride. i would try the KYB GR-2 struts all around and i think youll be satisfied.
of course you will be almost guaranteed to be happy if you shell out the money for true coilovers.

i think those aerospeed coilovers would be my best bet for now...
Is it best to put the struts on at the same time? Or can i wait till my stock ones go out... unfortunately i dont have very much money these days. but i still have priorities to get this thing lowered!
got a few Q:
1. It will cost me like $150-$200 to have them put in i presume... That was the estimate i got for putting in springs. Is it going to be different with coilovers?
2. Should i attempt to put them on myself?
3. have there been any problems with them? I rememeber hearing something awhile ago that they sucked or something... or was that jsut in comparison to $1000+ kits?
***edit*** just realized that they were Weapon R that i heard bad things about on BenJams ride....
These springs from the ebay looks pretty good.....but are they reliable and will they last long??does anyone know or have these kinds??and they will fit my LC rite??

thats why i posted this link... First off, this seller has 0 feedback, major minus. But i have been trying to do some research on R1 springs and i cant find much... They mostly make springs for Honda, so im getting the aerospeed ones for $200
Yeah i heard that these R1 coilovers arent good and i shuld just get eibachs....the aerospeeds are good??how many inches does it lower and where are you buying them??maybe ill be interested too....
well, i havent heard any complaints on the aerospeed coilovers except for the back end being bouncy... (i figure my stereo equipment will help that though)
im getting them online at streetstyler.com

yes the extra weight of the stereo will help but if your shocks blow it will be just as bad if not worse in terms of 'bounciness'
i seriously recommend installing springs and shocks both at the same time; and for gods sake put them on yourself. its so easy; just make sure its not 20 degrees outside when you do it; id say at least 40 or 50 .
$200 sounds expensive for arospeed coilovers; i got mine shipped from ebay (used) for $110 so maybe not... KYB GR-2 struts shouldnt run you more than $250; i think theyre $80 bucks apiece.
save teh installation cost and get struts. if you replace th whole shock and spring assembly with new parts it will be SO easy.
and we will help you too
