bumpstops just make it so your strut has something to hit when it compresses, usually these are there so it doesn't bottom out on your strut mount. Usually with any coilover sleeve they remove them completely, we don't have bump stops on the accent right now and it hasn't bottomed out at all yet. quick tip for anyone using just wrenches, it helps to have a spare rod or pole laying around to slip over your socket wrench to get more torque on a smaller socket wrench so if you don't have a breaker bar then this is your best alternative. also with the new lc eibachs we didn't even need spring compressors. I guess it just varies sometimes. Good how-to dave.

so then spring compressors are just a set of cripms?

that's cool...I was thinking of doing my own lowering projec this summer...but the spring compressor thing was freaking me out...

I always though it was some big machine like a wheel balancer or tire puller.

that's cool.

p.s. that pic of the strut tower bolts looks very familiar...hmmm...:

I remember when I did a strut swap on a 92 Corisca....the biggest pain in the ass I have ever experienced with a car. Everything covered in crap makes it harder to get the bolts off! One more reason to clean your WHOLE car.

How do you get the rear locknut on without spinning the rod. Does the impact gun handle this?

Its been just about 20,000 miles now, and they're holding up fine. I think the damping is starting to fall off a little for hard driving, cause i'm getting more body roll and a bouncy ride again, but for regular street driving they're doing good.
