Default help with torqe steer

I have an 01 Tib and when I launch hard my car pulls to the left real bad . I know that I should get a new diff but I have no $$$ and I have other parts I need to get installed too. If anyone knows a cheaper temporary alternative let me know. I just got TOYO Proxy Fz4s but no way to keep them in line.

Well, the best way is to get a LSD. As you already know, torque steer is caused by one wheel spinning and the other one not. A LSD will cure this.

Yeah I know but do you think I could just get suspension mount bushings for now? Cause somwhere I heard that they can limit torqe steer temporarily till I get an LSD.

if your car has only modest power-ups and biger wheels then look at your offsets on your wheels. if you diviated from standard offset this can dramaticaly effect your torque steer. go back to stock and see if it's still a problem.

I had the same problem time ago. It wasn't the diferential.
Always when I hitted the gas pedal the car turned left (To The Wall!!!!), also the gear wheel, very badly.
I thought it was the differential, but it was just that, no more sympthoms. My mechanic took a look and realised that the bushing of the left trapezious were broken. The silent block that suports the gear box to.

The matter was that when I hitted the gas the torque tends to turn left, (This is normal in our cars), but when the bushing are broken, the torque "bends" (Is a way of talking) the drivetrain in the left, so the right wheel goes faster!

Take a look at your bushing, bend them with a barr to check if they're broken or damaged. Think that your tyres maybe be wasted (Vibrations after repairing).
I was told that if it was the differential it would make a lot of noise when operating!

Good luck!

It isn't that his differntial is bad, it is that it isn't a limited slip. Our cars suffer from torque steer because the current differential only drives one wheel. By installing a LSD (limited slip differential) you make the engine drive both wheels.

thats not a good explanation and you know it :

the differential has the ability to drive both wheels and normally it does. thats because both tires have grip on the road. but the problem is that when a tire breaks loose the diff will put all its power to the tire that is easiest to turn.

you must understand why we have a diff though, it is because when you take a turn your wheels are rotating around an axis at 2 different radii. so in a 90 degree turn the inside wheel may cover 10 feet of distance and require 4 rotations, while the outside tire travels a total if 12 feet requiring 4.5 rotations. so one day somebody created a differential that would drive both wheels, but allow each one to spin at whatever rate it wanted to be at ina ratio. if your diff is running at 200rpm and you turn a corner the inside tire may be at 190rpm and the outside at 210rpm to balance it out. the broblem with an open diff (what 90% of production cars have) is that it potentially would allow one tire to be at 0rpm and the other at 400rpm which is why you see cars occasionally do a 1-tire burnout. a locked differential would not allow anything of the sort and both tires would always be equal around corners which increases tire wear.

now a limited slip differential allows some variance in tire speeds but will lock up after a certain point, say if one tire is turning 120% of the speed of the diff and the other only has 80% it will not let the other take any more of the ratio so you can get maximum grip on both tires.

hope that helped somebody
