Default Strut Bar

Hey all, i am wanting to purchase a strut bar, and i was wondering does anyone know if the Whiteline strut bar for the 2000+ accent will fit an LC2? I know some of us found out about the springs. for the LC2 but the strut bar would have different problems, which pertain to clearance. my LC2 has the 1.6 litre engine with automatic. any idea? anyone?

I think it does fit, but then your manifold rubs against the strut bar. Skierd sold me his because of that problem...

I was under the impression that a strut bar wouldn't fit on a 4 door, but I don't know why. Maybe because of the trunk hinge? If I had a 4-door I would check that.

Anyway, the above was an excuse to post without going off-topic... what I really wanted to do was ask you about your spings. Do you like the amount of drop, and are your shocks wearing out any faster?

it cost $85 for the strut bar w/ shipping included. yes the rear verna strut bar fits the LC2 accent BUT i dont' know if there's a differnece between the 3 and 4 door model (i have the hatchback). Best bet is to e-mail kspec (Dave) and ask them.

ok, thats a wonderful price for the strut bar! i think im gonna order it this weekend =^)
and i know the little metal things for the trunk that you are talking about, but i've seen other 4-doors with the strut bar, and its about a good ?4 inches? away from that, the only real concern i have is the 4-door accent i saw had no back seat, but he was an avid autocrosser so.... he took them out i suppose for weight issues, which i will do the same when i autocross but i need a back seat for the rest of the time. and mrchaotica
i haven't gotten my springs yet  ive been e-mailing Owen at tire rack and hes been trying to contact their "buyer"? so its taking awhile and im kinda getting impatient now, im gonna give them until atleast the end of next weekend and if nothing has changed, i ordered them on october 7th, ill probably cancel the eibach springs and order the intrax ones from HP.com. and i got a question about the springs on something you mentioned.... does lowering/stiffer springs wear out the shocks faster? because ive got only 4,000miles on my car, and all i would really need them to last until next summer when i get new struts/shocks, and basically over haul my suspension with hopegully whiteline suspension goodies.

depending on the drop, expect half the normal life of your struts.
