Default suspension

im looking to lower my car would there be a kit or spring/strut combo from like a newer elantra or a tibby that would work on my 97 elantra?

the new XD elantra and the 03 and up tiburon are to anything like the old ones, try a search

On my brother's '96 (which is the same as your '97), I used these struts:

Front:

Rear:

....and these springs:

I had to cut the bump stops and use a set of camber bolts to correct the camber in the front.

^^These say "for Accent", but they also fit the Elantra and Tib.

The handling is excellent, but the ride is pretty harsh with 40-series tires.

I have noticed alot of things with Hyundai being the springs for lowering are like 1.7 inch or so... Whats wit that.. either that or thousand dollar coil overs for a Tib.. WOW.. thats nuts.. I want LOWER!!!!

There are sprins form Eibach, H&R (and others). As for struts, there are the KYB GR-2's and if you have the bucks and want something better, Eibach offers a set of struts.
Ah... you might not find Eibach springs listed for the Elantra, but choose Tib parts, they are exactly the same, actually I had H&R springs for a Tib in my previuous 96 Elantra.
