Default X-drilled, Slotted or Both?

So what's the best way to go? I was tempted to go with slotted only, but everyone has their own opinions on which way to go. I'll tell you this much, at the moment I don't race the car at all ('99 tib), just aggressive street driving with heavy braking. This has been enough to warp the stockers more than once. Honestly, I was going slotted because Champ Cars use slotted and I figured they must know a thing or two about max braking performance. Then again, a Tiburon is not a Champ Car, so a different perspective has to be applied. Is it true slotted rotors can act as a "blade," cutting into the pad every rotation? I also know slotted helps prevent "pad glazing" and "out-gassing." However, I can buy x-drilled rotors cut in a slotted pattern. I'd have to imagine those holes would be just as beneficial to combat glazing, in addition to the added cooling benefit. That said, why would anyone want BOTH, slotted and x-drilled on the same rotor? Shouldn't I just pick one or the other? Any advice/experience welcome.

First of all, try a search we have a large number of posts on this:rambo:

Personally, I am going with slotted. Yes they slice the pad each time they come through, but from everything I've read slotted seems to be the way to go. Now drilled and slotted wouldn't be bad either, but I would be a little worried about the rotor holding up over the long run.

Try using the search feature and you will find tons of info on this.

Slotted is better and drilled is bad.

Drilled rotors can have a tendancy to crack especially under agressive braking.
