Default ground control problem

Ok to those that have installed them...
I just installed the FRONT ONLY today

Im having a rattle coming from the drivers side strut...

Any ideas?
The strut was NOT removed... so it has to be something with the ground controls

I installed those rubbers washers... so its not that
I also installed the metal washers like it said in the instructions

Now... concerning those metal washers.. i didnt exactly agree with what the instructions said
The instructions have the washers at the very top of the ground control system but under the body

this gives the top of the strut about 1-2mm of play

Also... ground control requires that you REMOVE the top part of the strut (that was used to support the top of the string)

Problem with that...
The top of that piece has a "D" shaped hole the is utilized to keep the strut from rotating when you screw in the strut nut from the top...
Without that...
We got rotation
Luckily i have an air gun...

Ill be tackling this again on the weekend unfortunatly..

Any ideas?
hints?

I also get a squeek from the passengers side when i hit something bumpy

So...
any ideas?

After we put the prototype POS coilovers on Angelas car we've had knocking noises fromt the rear struts ever since. I guess this tells us to just invest as much money in suspension as you would say... a quaife LSD... Bastard

if you bounce the car by hand can you make the noise? but the most common problem i see when people lower there cars and bring it in for alignment is: left the sway bar link loose and didn't position the spring isolaters correctly, but it sounds like you put it in correct. can you post some pics a visual might make it obvious,

ill try and take a pic of it later on tonight...

the sway bar was never moved so i definantly know its not that

I really think its the strut (the end part with the thread and the strut nut)
Theres nothing in the Ground control kit that will hold the strut from rotating

I think i just figured out what the problem might be...
I am 95% sure it has to do with the end of the strut... and it having some play..

I really need feed back from those who have the ground controls though...

I have successfully installed ground controls on my tib. I had rattling it the front before but I solved the problem. Ground control messed up on the instructions. the washer is supposed to be on the other side of the top cap. its supposed to be on the bottom instead of the top. this will prevent the top cap from moving and from freeplay. In order to get the top nut on that holds the assembly together, you neeed a vise grip to hold the strut from moving and you need a impact wrench to tighten it up.I also used a type of rubber from the air tube of a bike tire and slid it between the strut and the sleeve, since the o rings kept slipping off and made squeaky noise too. I never heard noise since. hope this helps a little
