Default Rear Sway Bar Link End

Last week I was driving to work on the highway and some idiot cut right in front of me without notice. We were going about 70 MPH so I had to swerve into the left lane to avoid hitting her, then back to the right because it was on a pretty sharp bend. Anyway when I went around the bend I heard a "POP" noise, and this continued everytime I went over a bump in the road.

I thought it was the tire rubbing against the fender because I didn't get them rolled yet, but it was not that. Anyway I went to Midas because, Hyundai was to busy. The guy at Midas said the problem is my (Rear Sway Bar Link End). :disappointed:

What do I do? He said it should be okay, I'll just hear a popping noise when I drive over bumps. I don't know what the Link End is, but he said it's like the ball joint part of the sway bar. :??:

What do you all suggest? I have a 99 Elantra with no suspension mods.

Thanks in Advance! :|

Default Re: Rear Sway Bar Link End

It's nothing major. The endlinks could cost $15 to $30 from the dealer and are easy to put in. There are two of them, one on each strut attaching to the swaybar. I installed the Tib GT swaybar, bushings and metal links on my car. Parts were $126 with shipping and took me 45 minutes to install with the car on the ground. If you search on the tib swaybar, you'll find more information on it and diagrams. Either way it's an easy repair to make...
