Default anyone running Rotas with captive hubs/rotors?

title says it all...

I wonder if the spaces between the lugs are big enough to clear the bolt heads on the rotors:

if anyone has 4x114.3 Rotas without captive rotors, please post a measurement of one of those slots.

don't you just love when you get to eventually answer your own questions?

Rota Slips and probably all other styles with the similar oval holes clear the captive hub bolts & washers on X2/Scoupe:

Awesome! Thanks for posting that, its enough for me to sticky it with as popular as Slipstreams are and how much of a PITA it is to describe the captive rotor issues.

I've seen spacers that have the recesses to clear the hub bolts, but then you'd have a goofy wide stance up front. that is probably good for fwd grip & reducing understeer, but could have other weird handling side effects.

if the mounting flange on the rim has enough material, perhaps you could have a shop mill out spaces. BUT it would have to be very precise to keep wheels in balance, plus would compromise structural integrity of the wheel & be a safety hazzard.

maybe that outer hub flange could have the bolt holes slightly tapered & counter sunk so a flat-headed fastener would sit flush. again, this is a potential safety risk - that flange keeps it all together & if it failed your wheel would leave the car. not good!

easiest solution would be to sell/trade those wheels for some that fit without any alterations neccessary. or find someone that can do a custom non-captive hub & rotor combo...

good luck

Just would like to validate the claim on the Slipstreams. It is true: They clear through captive rotor setups in J2/RD Elantras/Coupes/Tiburons. HTH
