So during the summer, around june or july, i replaced my stock rotors with slotted rotors along with some metallic brake pads. The thing i noticed is that, when its really hot out or i use alot of braking, the brakes take time to catch and feel like they're slipping or something. Recently, ive noticed it a little more when i was going from a fast pace and needed to stop real quick and when i was driving home last week without the music on, when i brake, it was making some whirling noise when the car was decreasing in speed. I cant really describe it, at first i thought it was my pulleys again, but it only happens if i touch the brakes and want to stop. Is this a problem with the brake pads? And if so, which are the best kind to get for this car? Are semi-metallic good or Kevlar? I think the ones i have which are metallic has something to do with the reaction of the braking, plus i could smell some burning at times when i use alot of hard braking.
You pads are melting, and glazing over from heat. Simple solution, buy really good pads, the get some dryer ducting form home depot, and hang it so you run fresh air on the pads from under the car. I removed my fender wells, and ran the dryer ducting to the front grill, i noticed no brake fade, even with repeated stopping from 80 mph! But i have dont have drilled rotors, just stock, and nice pads. you dont have to run the ducting, but it really helps. like.. alot.

Im going to try this out. Which type of pads are the best for my car and which brands besides KVR and Brembo is good? Ive seen some on ebay and all, but the price looks too cheap to be good quality, even though they say so.
I found the OEM hyundai to be just ok. KVR was waaay better! It really makes a difference over the OEM hyundai pads in higher speed higher temp conditions, but in low speed cold temps, it's just as good.
I've only lost braking power once from overheating the KVR's, and that was with 800lbs of gear in the car, two people, and tearing down a really twisty mountain.

I'm probably going to go with the KVRs, they sounds real good. If anyone wants to know, they also have cross-drilled and gas slotted rotors for our cars for 130. Thats pretty good, i paid around that same price for the ones i got.
So i got these KVRs and i installed them. They arent as good as i thought they were said to be. They dont have that good catch and its very soft. I have to press down alot more to actually have the car stop. I also put on some anti-sqealing gel that i had to buy and after a couple days, they are starting to sqeal. Could i have installed them wrong? Even though its kinda hard to mess up installing pads. I know it cant be air in the hose since i didnt disconnect it.
Im still a noob at this, but i just slipped the new pads in without removing the clips or anything. How do you bed it properly and bleed the brakes? If you could find a How to with pics, it will help a dumbass quite nice.
if no air was introduced into the system then there is no need for bleedind. the other guy is correct in saying that if it has been a long time since you changed the fluid it is a good thing to do
