02 Hyundai Sonata clunking noise while turning

Hi All,

I have a 2002 Sonata with 62,000 miles on the car. When I turn left there is a loud clunking noise apparently from the right wheel. This also happens sometimes when I brake and right when it comes to a dead stop. Now I have front brake replacement due (will get it done soon).

Could this noise be because of a suspension problem or the brakes? I recently had timing belt etc. replaced but the dealer did not recommend and suspension or CV boot malfunction (I had the entire car checked)

typically clunking noises are either from the suspension or brakes(drums usually)

when you get the brakes done get your mechanic to check for any play in the tie rods and hubs and from there your going to have to check bushings and shock mounts.
