Default Stonehenge in Maryhill, WA 03.24.07

We had a little cruise (Myself, busy_squirrel, and Sharkrocket), ended up being a bit smaller than anticipated but we had a truly EXCELLENT time with the trip and everyone is game for doing it again, maybe making it an overnighter next time considering that the whole trip took about 13 hours, 9 of which was spent driving. We drove through record breaking rains to 75 degree weather to a half inch of snow (and snowing hard) through White Pass and back to record breaking rains.

I took over 130 pictures along the way, plus Gabe took at least some. I have only uploaded a few pictures though at this time, I'll try to add more later.

We cruised hard north through eastern Washington from Goldendale to Yakima, at one point we were all going at least 124 mph. Even Gabe's 1.5l LC managed to pull this off. The trip through the mountains and into Yelm was a little hairy at times combining 20 mph marked corners with all the water on the roadway creating hydroplaning and mist issues. I had fun though. I love driving those mountain passes.

We ate at the Cousins Restaurant in The Dalles which was an experience that only pictures can do justice but I haven't uploaded the fiberglass simulated bestiality yet. Look for an update soon. We also hit the Black Angus in Yakima which was excellent place to eat and had one amazingly hot waitress.

Here are some pictures I took at the Dalles:

Maybe it's the computer I'm at, but some of these pictures look darker than at home. The files I have there look good on several different monitors. Or maybe unloading them to photobucket lowered the quality, anyways....

Typical rain on the way to Portland. My wipers were on full and Sharkrocket was maybe 60ft. in front of me but we had record rainfall for many miles.

There were a few water falls on the side of the freeway, including Multnomah, which I havn't uploaded yet.

The landscape changed as we went through the gorge.

McRicer in The Dalles wanted to race the Tib and "the Accent with exhaust".

But after he got even with Floyd, Floyd pulled away.

The salmon colored bridge heading back into WA that was next to the dam.

Stonehenge was the USAs first ever memorial to the service members lost in WWI.

Stonehenge from the North:

From the South:

The sky looks mean, but was mostly clear, low 70s, gentle breeze.

Later, another memorial was built on the same property. This one was for WWII, Korean, and Vietnam soldiers from that county.

On the way to Yakima we kinda hurried a bit.

In White Pass the snow was coming down pretty fast.

This last pic of Sharkrocket was taken shortly before we got to Packwood.
