I think I'm going to pass on this, it sounds like fun. The drive will be to much for me right now. Plus I have to work Sunday and I still need to find a stupid IAC valve. I will try to go to the next meet in May.
I hurt so bad today. It feels like I was hit by a truck. My entire body hurts. i didn't even get out of bed until almost 3:00 in the afternoon because it just hurt so much to get up. I think I messed up some stuff, maybe cracked a rib or two even. I thought about going to get xray's but said f-it. There's nothing they could do anyways. I am still getting sand out of my ears.
Video won't happen until I build my new computer. Run time between reboots is down to about 8 minutes now. Get the computer parts Wednesday I believe. I'll try to upload pics soon. Put a few on Facebook but I have a couple hundred more to edit and post the better ones.
I'll fill in some stories which came after we left you.
Not much happened really besides a couple of good races. The second two were after we were headed on our way. Let's just say that I have a bit more respect for the Tib after yesterday. I think there are a few others that probably do too. I just wish I would have been paying attention and raced the Supra as well instead of blowing that chance.
Kill 1: A nice new Lexus IS250. We pulled out of a Dairy Queen and he got in behind us. I went to pass Wilbur and the IS roared up behind me so I floored it figuring I would get around Wilbur and out of the guy's way. The IS floors it too and he was staying with me pretty well to 100mph or so. We have two lanes but he's staying behind me. The IS pulls into the other lane to try to pass me but apparently he was drafting me enough to make a pretty big difference because I started pulling on him more and more after he pulled into the other lane. I pulled to the top of 5th gear (6-speed...maybe 125mph? Wherever 5th gear is at about 6000 rpm's) and a few seconds into 6th gear before I had put enough of a lead on the Lexus that he gave up.
Kill 2 and 3: Driving home we were somewhere in the Seattle area on I-5 southbound when a group of 3 (actually pretty tastefully) Modified Hondas came up to our group and started trying to get me to race. There was a red Civic DX hatch, a EP3 mini-minivan style white SI, and a white 3rd gen Integra. So the first guy to line up with me was the red hatch. I don't know what mods he had but at least intake and exhaust of some type. We took off from a 60mph roll and I had him decisively by the end of 4th gear and there was no need to continue as it was obvious who won by that point. Shortly after that the white SI pulls up and we go on his third honk from a 60mph roll. 60's really not a great starting speed for me as it's out of my torque band in both 2nd and 3rd. The SI pulls on me pretty hard until I get into my power band and he's got about 2-3 car lengths on me by then that I'm not able to even try to make up before we come up to traffic. We clear the traffic and go for it again, only this time we roll from about 53-54mph, which is a good sweet spot to get a jump on him in 2nd gear on a downshift. We go and I have him by a car length by the end of 2nd and 2-3 by the end of 3rd and I hold that through 4th and 5th. I don't know what he had done to the SI, CF hood, loud intake and exhaust, and whenever he shifted hard he shot flames out of his exhaust so maybe cams or something? If I'm not mistaken that model SI had 160 hp from the factory.
Either way it was a pretty eventful trip home and a lot of fun. Not too bad in my eyes for an 05 SE with nothing but a Fujita CAI.
