well you will be moving down at the right time. sept is when it is not so hot. as for the area you are moving to, it is pretty cool. you will have the tampa st. pete area to chill out by. the best party spot is ybor city or channel side. thee are a lot of car clubs near that area and a lot of the import scene as well.

i am in orlando along with a few others. i try to go to the track all the time but i am getting pistons and rods so i wont be racing again till sept.

drop a line sometime, djalkyd@yahoo.com or im on aim djalkyd is my screen name

Sarasota here! Also originally from the Chicago northwest suburbs! As far as the import scene, we have a couple NOPI shows at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton (just north of Sarasota), Slamfest in November up in Tampa (hour away) and a huge show in Ft. Myers put on by ClearChannel in May I think. Dunno about Orlando but I'm sure someone else here will.

Hey, don't bother with Orlando, I always try to chill and everybody cops out. If you live in the Brevard County, Orlando area though check out:

Do you live here in Orlando? And if so, maybe you should check out some Saturday night events that take place? E-mail me at bryan_coleman1@yahoo.com and I will fill you in on what's happening. Anyone else interested in Orlando's import scene, e-mail me and we'll chat.

Hey, I'm in Sarasota, but I wouldn't consider myself a tuner. There are Test n Tunes every weekend at DeSoto Speedway, which is about 45 minutes North. Sarasota isn't much of a hotspot for tuning cars. The only hardcore car clubs are the classic car clubs that used to (I don't know if they still do) meet at the 50's diner. Reason being: average age here is about 65 years old. Buicks outnumber Hyundais.

Though it is a little off topic, yes UCF is a great school. I have attended there, but that was right out of high school, and only attended for about year. Been going to community college ever since. Great area too, and they are always building new residential areas out there, so you might be able to find a nice home or apartment quite near the school. Also, Orlando has the following: Orlando Speedway in Bithlo (track), over 15 sport compact car tuning company's with about double that for domestic performance shops.

Stay away from sleepy town Sarasota. The view is great, the people are nice, but it ain't where the action is.

Though Orlando is a huge tourist town, it is still possible to remove yourself from the tourism life because of the vast variety of things to do here. Let us know when you are planning your move, we'll welcome you with open arms.

if you like rice, orlando is a great place for it. i used to hate living here until i started going on mini roadtrips around the state and realized, orlando is actually a decent place to be.
