Default Re: ceramic coating

ok heres the deal. and all prices are APPROXIMATE because the coating material is expensive and it all depends on how many grams are used on the application. like i said my 4-1 header that extends to just about the middle of the oil pan was $120 so i will estimate that would be the bill for yours as well.

he said the intake manifold is best suited to be ceramic coated ONLY at the point where the surface meets the head. so basically where the gasket seats would be coated. the inside (runners, and plenum) would be untouched which wouldnt be too bad especially if you plan on porting/polishing at a later date you wouldnt have to worry about ruining the coating because there would be none. the outside can be done any number of ways, he suggested either powdercoating it or just putting an 'iron' colored base coat and then a clear coat just to keep it smooth and looking clean forever. the whole IM deal he said would estimate about $70 but again could be more or less depending on teh amount of material used. what i can do (not today unfortunately) is bring my car down there maybe tomorrow and have him look at it personally and give me a beter estimate after seeing teh design. i can tell he is more used to working on v-8's by the comparisons he kept giving. anywhoo, ill post back up here when i get another update.

he also said 3-4 days for the coat process and i know i stated 3 before just to let you know.
