i saw this on my local foruma dn what was posted from the guys borad, was he just got track only tires and wheels, and was given the wrong type splin lug nuts

they go on to say he couldnt even move the car after cause the rotors were bend so bad and riped up the whole inner wheel well, the rear wheel wells are are cracked and chipped even worse than the front ones

ok here is the post taken from the guy board

According to Karl O., an S2K driver who was there that weekend.

Quote:
This guy just bought a new set of dedicated track wheels, the shop gave him the wrong lugs. As you can see the results were not good.
Quote:
Unfortunately, that was not staged. The lugs were the wrong thread. I was working the corner across the track at the time.

He was getting to the slalom, where I had a difficult time deciding whether I was gonna stay at 8500 rpms in 1st or shift to 2nd- so I'm guessing he was going between 45 and 50 mph.

You can't tell from that video, but that was a gorgeous car. He was behind me in tech inspection, I was admiring it. There can't be that many clean RX-7s left. The bodywork around the wheel wells is now completely ruined. The brake rotors bent enough that even once the stock wheels were put back on, the car didn't want to roll.

Atleast it wasn't on the highway. I love Rx-7's so much this made me cringe.
There is a reason not to trust impact wrenches.

one thing I hate about afermarket wheels is that the socket hole size is so small, barely enough room for the socket to fit in and bolt the lugs down..
i also hate the fact that most use allen key lugs which strip easily.

as from my experiene from working at goodyear..

i also hate wheels that stick out too much, have short studs on then so i have to use my finger's to thread them in the deep holes before i bolt em down..

i also hate toyota wheels..stupid thick ass FN "orange" wheel lip!!

and last but not least..i hate european car's and their stupid decision to use bolts instead of lugs.
