2004's are easily dented

I knew Hyundai's were made slightly cheper than other cars, but come on. I recently opened my door a little too much last night and bumped someone elses car. I was more worried about chipping the paint, since that happens way too easily, but those door sill protectors are there. Well, too my surprise I dented in a small portion of the door. It really is a tiny dent, but it pinches the rear driver side door enough to chip off it's paint and make an annoying noise when it is open. Should I take it to a Hyudai dealer, which I doubt, or just bang out the dent. I figured, as easily as it was put there it can't be hard at all to bang out. I just need a rubbber mallet.

Whats the hyundai dealer going to do about it?
They sure as hell won't fix it for free.

Atleast now maybe you will be more carefull when swinging your door open and not hit the car beside you.

There is a replacement for displacement. It is on 2 wheels and 600cc.

Well....I didn't really think they would fix it for free. It pretty much passed through my mind and then exited immediately. And I didn't really swing my dorr open. I am always cautious about that. I opened my door and it just happened to be at that point where it catches at the locking pint. That kinda opened it a little more and swung my door open. I am still at fault about it and am just gonna have to go fix it.

I have never seen that at all, that is odd. My mom hit my door edge against a pole and it just chipped the paint. It didn't dent it. Hmmm

i agree...i have tiny little dings EVERYWHERE. theyre not even from hitting anything. they are just very tiny little ones all over the doors. theyre so small, you can only see em from a certain angle, and on a black car, it makes it look like crap...theyre so small, i dont know if they can even be fixed.

just a headache to have so many dents on a <1 year old car

too many to list. check out member profile on EXD

I feel your pain. I am thinking of buying one of those dent popper things. I don't know how well they work though. Sounds almost too good to be true.

Thanks, if it didn't work for one person it certainly won't work for me. Never works in a positive way.
