How to fix the over rich condition EASILY

I have figured it out.

it took me a few minutes to think this up.. and here is my solution...

see diagram..
1. arming switch is OFF, fuel flows through the one way valve to the fuel rail. (same valve that is in the fuel lines in the tank, see hmaservice for picture of it).

2. arming switch is turned ON, MSD fuel pump starts pumping, fuel pressure builds up on the fuel rail, fuel flows into the one way valve and SHUTS IT OFF, fuel continues to flow at high pressure levels into the fuel rail for use with nitrous.

3. arming switch turned off again, MSD pump shuts off, and fuel flow goes through the one way valve again, like stock.

what does this solve ? no more fouled plugs. no more fuel pump noise while driving normally !!!

you are all welcome for this wonderful invetion that i have come up with. good luck installing it/using it on your hyundai's !!!!

I will install this system asap, by this weekend i will have it done its so damn simple !!! why didnt i think of it sooner ! hahaha

that is the smartest post you've had in this forum all day! that is a great idea if you can get hold of a good (really extra special good) one way fuel valve. thats alot of pressure. got anything in mind to use?

there is already one of thos "good quality" one way valves IN my elantras STOCK fuel system.

its back by the tank, i just have o order one of those, or i can get a standard one from the auto parts store for under $10 bux.

Question:

Isn't the downfall in this diagram the fact that pressure will not be rising, but just being re-routed.

Think, the stock fuel pump is gonna be pulling all the fuel at lets say (number out of my ass) 10. So going through the One way fuel valve the pressure is 10, and hitting the fuel rail at 10 while off.

When on, the fuel pressure is still 10 coming from the stock fuel pump but is getting split lets say 7 MSD (more pressure due to the pump) and 3 through the valve(less pressure due to the pump). Still the pressure going into the fuel rail is 10. Your still pulling 10 from the line UP to the split.

In other words, all your really doing is re-routing the fuel and not really doing anything. I can understand if that MSD Fuel Pump was maybe going to the gas tank, but to me this sorta seems pointless. The thing holding you back is the stock fuel pump, UNLESS you upgrade the fuel pump. Then well its still pointless unless you are looking for economy.

Smiley, I won't go into detail because I already did in another post. I'll just say your theory about pressure is incorrect. You're confusing <i>pressure</i> with <i>volume</i>.

Basically, the in-tank pump determines the maximum volume, the inline pump determines the maximum pressure.

This will make a difference. But in his diagram it says FACTORY FUEL PUMP.

More gas. When driving normally, your stock pump isn't delivering its maximum volume of fuel to the motor. When the pressure in your fuel line reaches the same pressure as what your pump is capable of pumping, no more fuel will enter the line, this is called "dead heading" . When you injectors allow fuel out of the line, your pump will then start adding more to the line. Because the MSD pump can pump more pressure before "dead heading", your stock pump will keep filling the line before the MSD pump as the MSD compresses the gas in the line after it. You're right that the MSD will only pump what the stock pump gives it, but the stock pump can give the MSD more fuel than it could give the line before the MSD was installed. Here's an analogy: turn on your garden hose. The water coming out doesn't have much pressure. There are two ways to increase the pressure, decrease the volume by partially blocking the end of the hose with your thumb (wouldn't want to do that in the engine, because the goal is more fuel, not less), or attach the hose to a pump (like a pressure washer). Trust me on this, I was a wildland firefighter for three years, I had to take a whole semester of "Hydraulics" at the Community College. I had to study all about how hose sizes, nozzle flow rates, pump output pressures, and elevations all affect volume and effective pressures.

I have installed and tested the fuel system i designed (in the picture above)..

everything works FLAWLESSLY !!! i did notice a bit of an improvement in throttle response now.. i think i was slightly reducing the flow of the stock pump by forcing it to ram the fuel through the MSD PUMP TURNED OFF... now, i also added a new switch that activates the MSD pump at will...

see you all in my rearview !!! HHAAAA
