Sorry to sound like an ass but.... did you check the oil level? Maybe the first owner didn't change the oil for 30,000 miles?

Is yours an 06? I heard the first-year Sonatas have had this problem. There should be some sort of Recall.

betcha a million bucks that Hyundai will soon call out a recall or TSB out; many
