Anybody knows the difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 Beta engines (<img src=/images/forums/snitz/guns.gif width=33 height=16 border=0>before somebody comes with it, I mean BESIDES the displacement<img src=/images/forums/snitz/moon.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>)? Is the bore and stroke diff? or is it only the stroke longer in the 2.0? Is the crankshaft the same? con rods? pistons?
If it's only the stroke, could you build a 2.0 out from a 1.8?

as I understand it, the displacement is not different, what they simply did to create 2.0L is a longer stroke. It does not flow like a true 2.0L engine.

Wait a minute, the displacement is the capacity of the engine (1.8 = 1800 cc ; 2.0 = 2000 cc) so it HAS to be different in both engines. What do you mean "it doesn't flow like a true 2.0 engine"??? It IS a 2.0 engine.

this is being discussed on TEamSR

The Crank and connecting rods are different but the pistons are the same. Same size piston shorter stroke with a longer con-rod (1.8l). Supposedly an "easy" swap
