I am a mechanic familiar with checking/setting base ignition timing on Mitsubishi's engine. In a Mitsu's engine there is a brown plug near the firewall, ground it to disable electronic timing advance, and you may start aiming the timing light.
Well, I now have a 2001 Hyundai Matrix running the 1.8l BETA, which I do not know how to disable the electronic timing advance. Can you pls advise on the procedure? Is there any terminal I need to ground/jumped, like the Mitsu's engine?
