My 92 Elantra's engine has finally decided to bite it. I'm at the wreckers looking at engines and there are some 1.6 and some 1.8. Can I take a 1.8l engine and just bolt it on without doing any major stuff. This is my beater car, so that is why I'm not swapping it with a 4g63t. Any help would be great, I am hopefulling going to this sometime in the coming weeks.

what year is thge 1.8 from? if its a 96+, then it wont work as far as I know.
if its from up to 95, then be sure to take the wiring harness and ecu as well.

i dont think the 1.8 will bolt right in as its a different model

you will need the ecu and wiring harness i think

OK then, I'm pretty sure that i can get the harness and ECU's. That shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the help guys!
