My car is a 1997 Tiburon FX 1.8L, has 50,000 miles on the engine.
Changed oil, replaced the oil filter today, the oil used was SAE 10W30.
I have been throwing wrenches all day trying to figure out what the problem is here. I changed the oil two times now used a different brand of 10W30 and still the problem remains. My car was running quiet and fine before I decided to change the oil and filter. It makes a very fast, tapping sound, moderately loud. I can also hear it pretty well when laying under the car. The pace of the sound does not change. I'm a little worried here, guys. Can somebody help me?

Go back to the auto parts store and get a Purolator Pure One filter, or go to the dealership and get an OEM filter. The noise is caused by oil starvation in the valve lash adjusters, due to a restrictive oil filter.

NEVER use a FRAM oil filter on a Hyundai Beta. Ever.

I replaced the OEM oil filter w/ a Purolator Premium oil filter, then replaced that one with a Napa oil filter. Took it for a roll and now its running great. Engine is quiet and snapping. Thanks. Yeah I've heard alot of bad press about Fram products. Thanks
