In a 2000 Tiburon with a 2.0L i4, wich I believe is very like your 1.8L,....It cost me about $2,500. I did EVERYTHING myself. But that price includes a high pressure/volume fuel pump, boost influenced pressure regulator, larger fuel injectors, air filter and cold air duct, fuel filter, blow-off valve, wastegate, 5 or 6 boost adjustment springs, intercooler, fuel pressure guage, air/fuel ratio guage (wideband O2 sensor) and boost guage, oil return line from turbo to pan, T3-T4 hybrid Ebay turbo, lots of books, oil, and spark plugs. I am a master ASCE mechanic, with an engineering degree. It can be done, and you just need to read, and educate yourself. Oh, and include a AEM FIC.
