Just got back from Capitol! It was a lot of fun and everyone there was nice. I've got a 1.6L accent, so now we can all know how quick these cars are. This was my first time drag racing at a track, so somebody with more experience would probably do better. Anywho, here are the times. My fastest run with the stock intake was a 17.3675 with a .8035 reaction time. Honestly, this run was with the resonator off, but there was little difference in times. Actually, the accent is probably faster with the resonator on, but I never had a good reaction time when ran with it on so I don't know for sure.

I also ran with my custom intake on (a civic shorty intake hacksawed down to make it fit with a cone on the end). My best time was a 17.1528 with a reaction time of .9487. I have a feeling that a better driver could have an accent with an intake only can run 16's, probably all day with a CAI! BTW, that run was against a 2000 Civic SI with an intake and exhaust. I had him beat by several lengths off the line untill about the 1/8th mile point (me: 10.9643 him: 10.6446)!! I think I might have scared some people (esp. since NOBODY knew what kind of car mine is ). All i need now is an exhaust and that KORE CAI... I think I'm gonna create a monster!

Not bad for the first time. Need to practice on the reaction time. You should have been doing about high 16's. Get them next time.

Check to see if they have any open days for practice.

I know capitol has Test & Tune Friday's every Friday (unlimited runs for $10). Any other tracks within 20-30 minutes of Glen Burnie, MD? Capitol is mostly old dinosaur V8's and a couple imports, mostly Hondas an Diamond Star. The annoucer didn't even know I had a hyundai!! He thought I had a HONDA!

I live closer to Buds Creek, 20-30min. Even though I am about 30-40 min away from Glen Burnie. Thats the only one I can think of.
Another way to practice is with the street lights around your area. (Just make sure nobody is in front of you )
