After purchasing many car & drivers and motorweek I cannot find how fast the 2001 tiburon does the 0-60 and 1/4 mile. How fast does it do the slalom? What about the top speed? Thanks and I know this is a newbie question but all I can find info on is the 2000 tiburon

I don't trust those times cause the 2001 elantra with the same engine as us does a 8.4 in car and driver. I would guess the tiburon under the hands of a pro does it around 8.0 -8.1

Actually the Elantra doesn't <i>quite</i> have the same motor anymore.

I test drove one the other day for sh*ts and giggles and was VERY unimpressed. They doubled the balancers on the crank, as well as changed the method of vibration dampening used in the motor mounts. As a result, the new Beta motor in the Elantra accelerates very poorly.

In actuality, I wasn't much more impressed driving the new Elantra than I was driving my 1.5L Accent <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>.

but according to car and driver and motortrend it has the same power so is the gearing different?
