any ideas on what you should get? well for starters its your vehicle, its only custom to your specs by getting what YOU like. The only suggestion a person could make is, get what you think would be cool, although sometimes, the definition of cool by one person doesnt meet the general consensus, but if that guy doesnt care, then more power to him!

I can, though, tell you what ive done and plan to do. I have the 2k1 accent 4dr in coastal blue. I painted the interior, stuck in some interior neons, got my stereo stolen, lowered it, put strobe lights in it, washer nozzle lights, hyper white headlights, hyper white foglights, i plan on getting a kit, rims, raise it back up and put some air rods on it, turbo, nos(only reason for both is looks), this car will not be my racer, especially with the 1500lb stereo that will be in it, lol

i hope this helps
jack

I am a handling junkie so my suggestion would be to get strut tower braces. They are easy to install, fairly inexpensive (aprox $150 for the pair) and won't affect your warranty at all. The handling will be day and night.

Only problem is I do not know if they make the rear one for the 2002 yet but if they don't I am sure they will soon.

Also for your 1st engine mod get a Cold Air Intake (CAI) it will give the car a lil better throttle response and a nice sound too.

Next I would go with exhaust then headders.

Basically Intake, exhaust, and headders (I/H/E) is where most people start for engine mods.

Hope this helps.

you guys are helping me out so much, this is great.i now have some great ideas to apply to my car.the CAI i found for my car but i dont know which one to order because it asks if i want the CAI with or without the bypass vavle.what does it do?or do i need it?the struts are something else that i will do.why is there not a lot of body kits out there for my car?2002 Aceent.also,i have been wondering about nos.would the 55-65hp increase realy be that great and is it worth all that money?you guys have me off to a good start and i don't want to waist the money for something that sounds good but don't do much.Jack, sounds like you have a nice project going for yourself to.thanks

The AEM bypass valve is going to be a matter of opinion.

This is what it does.
It prevents your engine from hydrolocking by opening up if you filter gets completely submerged in water. The chances of your filter getting submerged is highly unlikely but if you live in an area that floods alot then you may want to consider it. I don't think it is most people realy need one but it can be a good piece of mind and besides it is better safe then sorry.

More body kits will come. You gotta remember your car is still new so be patient.

You will definately feel the power difference with NOS. But if not used or installed propperly could ruin your engine. You will not want to run anything higher than a 65shot.
NOS is also usually the best hp increase for the buck. You could probably get a kit installed for around $500.

Thanks for asking verry specific questions. It makes it easy to answer.

If you have a hatchback you have OVER 10 kits available. I had the Talon kit on mine until I totalled it 3 months ago Click the link in my sig to see my old 2001 GS. I had the KORE CAI and KORE prototype cat back with an Arospeed muffler on mine. I also had painted dash and some other interior stuff(same color as car), CF dash kit, Del Sol seats, Eibach springs and a lot of other things. Go to the N/A forum and look for the topics about CAI's to see pics of mine and other intakes. Good luck with the car

Handling junkie or not, i still say ditch the stock suspesion asap. I suggest eibach springs and a good set of performance struts, and then a rear sway bar.

Also, the basic bolt-ons (intake and full exhaust) are good to get as well. Don't forget the stereo system and get rid of those stock 13" pizza cutters hyundai gives us for wheels.

Anything beyond this stuff really depends on what you want to do with the car.

thanks to you guys,i'm getting my car hooked up good.i'm taking it to austin to have a shop put on the CAI,and NOS.right now i'm having a prob..auto,you say go no more than 65hp shot with nos.i just orderd a system that hits it with a 80 and they say that it the lowest they can get me.I see that ZEX Nitro has the system that you are telling me about.should i tell the performance shop that the 80 will hurt my car and i want my deposit back because of the damage it will cause to my car?and then go with Zex?also, with the CAI,i could go without the bypass and it wouldn't change the diff.my car would still run the same right?I was also turned on to a Haltech F-9.what is your thought about the Haltech system?will it help me on performance as much as it sounds or is it like having a chip put into the car?i read that i can control the ecu to give it better performance and monitor the engine with my pc as i go.I'm trying to get a price from the pro.shop now to see what that would cost me but,you know how they are.wanting to sell you everything they got.don't understand why they didn't know that 80hp shot might be to much for my car.well, let me know what you think.i see a lot of people around here running alot of hp and like you guys say,you need a way to put that hp to the street and with out the suspension i wouldn't be able to do that so i will take that advice and have one on my car before i go broke putting to much in the engine and not taking off the way i thought it should.i guess i have been looking at the body kits wrong or something.i don't know how to figure out if they will work on my car.i thought the eclips was for the eclips car.i'm still new at this.i used to the big muscle cars.this is a big change from what i have played with in the past.thank you for all the help.please keep it up.i will listen to all advice for i have none on the subject my self haha!!thanks again and it sounds like you guys have some tight rides.i hope to soon join the excitement of having one my self.thanks

definitely go the rear sway bar route = flat cornering with controlled progressive oversteer.

If they are selling you an 80 dry-shot of N2O then that is way way too much for your stock motor and fuel system. If it is a wet-shot system then it would be very borderline. If you didn't use it much, or for extended periods then I think the motor will last a little while. Regardless it is still somewhat risky on a stock motor. A 55-65 shot is more appropriate for a stock 4-cylinder.

I think you ought to consider the I/H/E path before N2O upgrade.

I hope you did not get that 80 shot yet. It realy is too much.

I am also with xlr8 on this one. Get your I/H/E before you go with any type of forced induction or N2o. Your stock exhaust is just going to choke you down anyway.

If the shop is still recomending an 80shot then stay away from them cause they don't know what they are doing.
