Course: Industrial park backroads, all turns 90 degrees, approx. 4km in length, tarmac surface.
Conditions:Clear, 32 celcius.

Tested a 02' Accent today after a clutch job without the customer, most of the test went along real good...until I get to the part of the course where the turns are. This b*astard CRX just knives in and brakes so early I nearly ruined the customer's car! Anyway he looks back and gives me a "you're so weak" look typical of riceboys here. Gear 5>3>2, maybe 5000rpm on 3rd into a normal downshift and a braking approach with oversteer, which puts me right on his tail at the exit point. The next turn comes up, back at Gear 4, so cycle down 4>3>2 with heel/toe into outbrake pass, pass on the inside line. I hear the overrev from the other driver. Turn 3, Gear 3>2 into trailing throttle and a bit of oversteer, and look back.

He's stopped at the curb, and got out of the car. I stop, and he just stands there looking. I go back to work....

Some ppl are so ignorant of whats going on...driving a Hyundai doesnt make you inferior in any way, the only thing it proves is that you know how to select a good, affordable, servicible car...and that doesnt make you a weak driver. In any bloody way. I hope this fool in the CRX doesnt go and buy a Hyundai...it'd cheapen the brand so much I'd have to go work at Honda...*yeeech*

Yeah that would suck.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> There is no job security in fixing cars that don't break.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0> Stick with Hyundai and you will always have a job.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>Devil, this time it was simply without the customer...I did state that, didn't I?

When we finish a job the customer comes with us on the test drive to make sure everything is as he or she wants it to be, if there is a seperate problem then we will address it when we get back to the shop(this is my excuse for going overtime lol). This was a mild thing, there have been customers who request that worse manouvers be performed so they can be sure the car is at 100%...and almost every time they are in the car with us. As an example, a lady today, and I mean a REAL lady, curves and all, asked that we push the car more quickly off the exit ramp as it was clear, so she would know that we had changed her suspension bushings, stabalizer links and shocks properly. My boss let off a 4-wheel drift...in a FWD nonetheless...all the way down the ramp, and the lady was very satisfied with the job we did, she even asked for a small stack of cards she could distribute to her friends(sure hope they all look like she does muhuhahaha)

Don't get me wrong, we have seen shock mountings that weren't properly torqued, crossmsmbers that weren't properly torqued, and even bloody hub carriers that weren't properly torqued, and all of the above come from other garages, where most of the time the mechanic tells the customer that the car has been tested and is in perfect shape(oh...perfect with the plugs in the wrong heatrange!?!?)

This is the reason we test WITH the customers...to show them the job has been done professionally, and that we are willing to put our work to the test, and wager ourselves on it. It's also the reason our boss, a former GP driver on Ford's GT effort back in the late 70's, makes pretty damn sure we meet a high standard of driving ability. A guy who joined us as an apprentice had his license paid for by the company and was taught how to pinpoint faults in certain areas of the car by using higher levels of driving method. This is our commitment to our customers, our commitment to Hyundai owners that they receive the best service they can get, all at an affordable price, in keeping with the concept of Hyundai Motor Company.

<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>Vtec, some of the Honda owners are really cool, but most of the riceboys just get their licences and buy a Civic thinking it's Ferrari's F2001, and they drive it like they own the roads! Civics are good cars, so are Accords and Integras...but the ppl who drive them here are dangerous on the roads, and think they're the greatest...a disaster waiting to happen no?

Oh...and I dont see any point in dumping on other ppl's pride and joy. AND I bummed with a bunch of Civic drivers at Cirque De Soliel last night, and they were really cool about me working at Hyundai, they even asked if they could send their cars to us to be fixed or to have work done. I guess nobody's perfect, but at least these guys don't look at ppl by what they drive...or in my case, don't drive.lol
