Both of these cars are waaaaaaaay outclassed by the 2002 1.8T, Sentra Spec-V and Tiburon GT. What the hell is Ford and Honda thinking?

The new Si is the biggest dissapoinment from Honda in a long time, 99-00 Si owners should be that much glader..

Reviewers of the SVT Focus gave it a resounding 2 thumbs down in nearly every category and were pretty much appauled that SVT would lend their logo to such a car, but this was only a couple of independent reviewers, we have yet to see them in the hands of full fledged testers like C&D etc.. the likes of which you guys place WAAAY to much emphasis on..

The Sentra SE-R Spec V. you'll noticed had to be "polished" by Nissan because independent dyno plots reveald that the QR25 was only spitting out 140-145whp as opposed to the "claimed" 180hp (155whp), but drivers are impressed by it's low end though they complain alot about it falling on it's face 200rpm before it's 6200rpm redline

Nobody worthy of noting has gotten their hands on a new Tib (I'm sorry but I will NOT look at APC as a reliable source of performance data even if the general concensous here wants to), but this IS a Hyundai site so I'll play along.. "the new Tib is awesome man!!! Total import killer dude!"

lol

And with the WRX STi and EVO VII on the horizon, the future of compact tuning is gettin pretty crowded.. and it looks like fun!!

I should be getting my hands on one in the next two weeks for a feature article.

From what I've heard talking to Hyundai is that it actually sucks driving in traffic because it has so much power everywhere on the powerband .

Well hopefully the Canadian release of the Tiburon V6 6-speed, will be delayed by I m hoping 2-3 weeks. Give time for me to send someone $150 to go take it to the track and get me some god damn 1/4 mile times before I decide on cancelling my order.

Magazines.. what can you say

I've seen cars have as much as a 1 sec. difference (S2000 for example has a fastest of 13.8, slowest of 14.8) which goes to show.. DON'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU READ..

but you guys just dooon't listen

Now I am going to have to throw in a word or two to defend the magazines, while yes some of them suck and their drivers can't really drive, for the most part the likes of motortrend, car and driver, and a select others can be used to get a good idea of the cars performance as well as its strong and weak points. While I am not saying take it as gospel and the two real ways to do so are the dyno and the track, you shouldn't rag on the mags because 99.9% of people are not going to get to own, race, and dyno all of the cars to find out which one they perfer, let alone modify all of them and see how they react. So it can be a good basis for a quick comparo.

Mwahahaha.. that 16.1-16.2 is close enough to my time that if a dumbass was behind the wheel I could win.. eh only problem is i never get lucky and the person that bought a car like that knows how to drive and kicks my ass Is there gonna be an auto version of either of them? hehehe

Maybe I missed it, but where do those times for the'02 Focus and Si
come from? They just don't look right. A stock '02 Elantra could
get those 1/4 mile times. I would guesstimate mid to high 15's for either car.

consider that the magazines overshot the stats, and said a new Si ran a 15.2 in the quarter, then everyone drives one and cant get below a 15.5. then they would be even more pissed at the magazines. oh, and both the cars are heavy as schit.

did you know theyre only making 12000 Si's?

I don't drive a 1997 Kia Sephia with 75,000 miles on it. its on my front lawn. i now drive a 1989 Honda Civic Si with 84,000 miles on it. Anyone want to buy a kia?
