We have a pre-production 2006 Accent 4 door for the press to check out soon. It is pretty nice i will get some pics tomorrow. I really like the steering wheel and it drives really nice. the torsion bean rear allows for an incredibly HUGE trunk. Overall interior is nice and has a few cool new features. The 4 wheel disc is nice too. Can't wait for the 3 door to come out.

I like it, which surprises me because I hated the first pictures I saw from whichever auto show that was. Looks a lot like a Spectra...

It is a real nice car, it has the build quality like the Sonata and Tucson and in person looks very little like an echo, just in the pics. It has a lot of neat little features. I think it will be a hit once the 3 door joins it.

the engine cover look's gay and cheap, it's taken way too any styling cue's from it's competitors, put them together with the echo and Aerio and they'd look alike..but them again..the tallness is there for a reason..cabin Room

I wonder how different Hyundai's CVVT Is from Honda's VTEC

I like the 3 door okay, but something about the light/grille combo I don't like on the 4 door. Looks too much like a shrunken Corolla, and I hate Corollas. Corollas are popular though, so maybe it's a wise choice to copy. I think the Corollas are butt ugly though.

The front doesn't look like an accent, but the back is slightly familiar.

And where'd the fog lights? Don't tell me there's no option for them. :c

Well like I was saying this is just a pre-production model. Fog lights are an option and a number of other goodies...working on Nav and head rest monitors and stuff like that inside. It is a much better car in person than in pictures, I will be buying a 3 door for sure.

[body]I wonder how different Hyundai's CVVT is from Hondas VTEC[/body]
I posted this in the hybrid forum a while back:

vtec is not continiously variable. Two completely different systems for two completely different goals. With vtec there is a change over that happens at about 4k rpm regardless of endine load. The two intake rockers are hydraulically locked at this point and are forced to follow a more agressive part of the cam lobe which is why you can hear he damn thing activate from blocks away. This system is meant to push power delivery to the top end of the power curve, as well as allow the engine to spin at faster rpms. At the lower rpms there is high fuel economy and less emisions because the small displacement motor is running very conservitevaly

CVVT, toyota vvti, honda i-vtec and others are exhaust cam phaser actuator systems(honda's actually a combination of the exhaust cam phaser and the dual grind cam lobes and hydraulic rockers, which makes it have incredible potential). As we discused this changes the exhaust cam timing to achieve the best possible fuel burn, and thus performance under all engine conditions. The changing cam position influences the amount of exhaust gas in the combustion chamber, which is why these systems lack EGR valves. Specifically on hyundai engines they are meant to get better fuel economy because hyundai's are sold based on reliability, low cost and fuel economy, also known as value. This system if used more aggressivley gives the same, if not beter results than vtec. The GM 4.2L inline six makes 270hp, and close to 300 lb/ft of torque using this system.

The original VTEC still owns every other type of system though X)
